About SPAMUN
SPAMUN is the best conference for young, aspiring delegates to gain their first MUN experience, where they may try out different committees, participate in crisis simulations, and hone their diplomatic abilities. However, SPAMUN is also a great conference for more seasoned delegates because it has a more sophisticated committees that will make for a profound MUN experience for delegates of all experience levels.

Caitlyn Chen
Secretary General
Heading into her junior year at Southpointe Academy, Caitlyn is ecstatic to serve as SPAMUN 2024’s Secretary General. Ever since her first conference in Grade 8 (which happens to be SPAMUN 2021), where she participated in the heated debates, formed blocs, and listened to the lively crisis committees, MUN has become a passion that continues to grow. Over these three years, MUN helped her form friendships that last long after the conference has ended, allowing her to expand her worldly views and create irreplaceable memories. The morning runs to Starbucks, the late night talks, and storming other committee rooms will always hold a special place in her heart. She hopes to help make this year’s iteration of SPAMUN an unforgettable one, creating new experiences for advanced delegates and first time experiences for beginner delegates. Outside of Model UN, she can be found with her nose in a book, being a couch potato, trying not to wake her parents up while practicing clarinet or playing volleyball.

Daniel Feng
Director General
As a current sophomore at Southpointe Academy, Daniel Feng is proud to serve as the Director General of SPAMUN 2024. Since walking into his first conference in grade 8, repeatedly trying and bumbling through his improvised speeches, Daniel has found a great passion for Model United Nations. Now, just three years later, Daniel has gained much from MUN. From public speaking skills to making life-long memories to late nights working on position and resolution papers and the heavy reliance on caffeine, there is no shortage of cherished experiences that MUN has provided for Daniel. Now he hopes to do the same for future delegates on their unique MUN journeys. Outside of committee rooms, Daniel can be found taking a deep dive into various fictional sci-fi media and content, attempting to read and explain classical literature to his peers and those willing to listen, frequently illustrating and analyzing myths and legends of ancient civilizations.

Renee Zhao
Chief of Staff
Currently a rising senior at Southpointe Academy, Renee is honoured and delighted to serve as the Chief of Staff for SPAMUN 2024. Renee vividly remembers being a Grade 9 student and stepping into her first conference at SPAMUN 2021 – hesitating to raise her placard, learning what a moderated caucus is, and trembling when delivering speeches. Three years later, Model UN has become a home for Renee. When thinking about her experiences with Model UN, she can not help but smile as she reminisces on the life-long friendships, zealous debate, and priceless memories that Model UN has carried into her life like a breath of fresh air. Each conference and debate is a stepping stone towards growth, and she will treasure her Model UN memories forever. Outside of the committee room, Renee is an avid and fervent environmentalist who can frequently be seen planning environmental movements, watching the most recent shoujo anime, or scrolling through her feed that consists of almost entirely cats. She looks forward to creating an unforgettable Model UN experience for SPAMUN 2024 and wishes delegates the best of luck on their Model UN journey!

Bright Ye
USG of IT
A few years ago, Bright started the MUN club after being peer pressured to join. Despite his reservations, he attended SPAMUN 2021, where he was first exposed to the world of arguments, public speaking, and representing a country to fight for (even if it may not align with your views). It seemed to have touched a nerve, because he proceeded to attend many other conferences around Vancouver, each of them great experiences. Now, as an experienced delegate, he wishes to spread this passion for MUN through this year’s iteration: SPAMUN 2024. In his free time, Bright often plays video games (shocker), reads books, and plays piano. He looks forward to creating a positive environment for everybody at SPAMUN 2024!
